Where should I search for photos?
There are plenty of sites, where you can get the audio/video information you are looking for. Here is a list of the most popular ones:
Yahoo! Creative Commons Search
This Yahoo! division searches through millions of Creative Commons licensed images, text, audio and video materials. These materials are free to share and can be reused by other authors without paying royalties or asking permission. It also offers tools limiting the search to “content I can use for commercial purposes” and “comment I can build upon”. Creative Commons also offers a search tool, but it seems that Yahoo! covers more sites with more content.
Picture History
This site has a collection of maps, postcard, cartoons, stereo cards, periodicals and other digital archive information, collected for more than 200 hundred years of American history. It can be accessed either by using its broad categories, or by using simple keyword searches and the advanced search tool which can filter the material by date, medium, original format or photographer. Also, one can purchase images, or receive them as e-cards from the website
National Geographic Online
Along its history, National Geographic provided stunning photographs along with its amazing articles. You can search for some of them at the site’s photography section that features photo galleries by subject and more.
Google
Google, the most popular search engine, also features Image Search, where you could look after graphics. It’s Advanced Search allows you to pick from different sizes, file types, colour and filter mature content. Use the Images search to find graphics. Some may be copyrighted. Advanced Search options will focus your search, allow you to choose file types and sizes, and filter mature content.
Flickr.com
Flickr was made with commodity in mind. It was designed to help people share their photos with family and friends, and it is also a great place you can search for photos. Watch The Flickr Blog, which has great photos daily. Also, keep an eye on the page with Everyone’s photos.
